RSPB launch iPhone apps

The RSPB has made its debut into the world of Smartphone technology by launching two apps for the iPhone.

The apps provide nature lovers with a bounty of information on things from wildlife and habitats to local events and the charity’s 200+ nature reserves.

loveNature, is free to download, and allows you browse RSPB reserves, find out what events and activities the charity is planning nearby, get directions to reserves and plan your visit.

loveBirds, priced at £4.99, is an app that allows users to identify birds, listen to birdsong, and access detailed information from the charity’s experts on birds’ appearance, diet and distribution.

Doug Christie, the RSPB’s product and licensing manager, said: “We designed the apps to be inspirational; allowing users to access useful and interesting information about the wonderful wildlife in this country and helping them to plan visits to our reserves so they can see it for themselves.”
