Woodland Trust Photography Competition

Enter your photos in the first Nature Detectives national photography competition for children, for the chance to win a digital camera.

The overall theme of the competition is ‘nature, trees and woods’ and is open to all youngsters under 14 years old.

Organised by The Woodland Trust it is hoped that children will go outdoors and explore the environment around the home, school or local green space.

1st prize is a Fuji 14 megapixel DIGITAL CAMERA (donated by Sainsbury’s) and a Gorillapod bendy, wrap-around tripod.

Hints and tips

Getting a good photograph can be quite difficult especially for a beginner not used to a digital camera.

For this reason a helpful pack of information has been put together that is available via email.

The easy guide to photography pack includes tips on basic photography, composition, perspectives and using different times of the day to offer different lighting and texture.

Get involved

Clubs, schools and other organisations can also get involved learning more about nature possibly as a summer project.

A poster is available here for your noticeboard.
