Burridge, who first came to live on the North York Moors almost thirty years ago, feels that he is now ‘firmly in the magical grip of this part of Yorkshire’s powerful gravitational field.’

He goes on to comment on ‘the particular magic of the Moors, the solace of its emptiness, the sweep of plunging vistas, the cloak of its wildness, the deep pleasures of its endlessly changing light.’

Demand will be high

During the exhibition period, The Moors National Park Centre will be hosting two key events at which the artists will be present.

The first event, ‘An audience with our artists’, on Friday 25 May at 6pm, provides an opportunity to meet and learn more about what inspires these established artists.

The second event, ‘Connected with landscape,’ takes place on Friday 8 June at 6pm and focuses on conversations between three of the exhibition’s artists: landscape photographer, Joe Cornish; landscape painter, Peter Hicks and glass designer, Kate Jones.

Tickets for these two events are priced at £10 each (to include canapés and drinks).

As it is anticipated that demand for places at both events will be high, early booking is recommended.
