holes appear in a National Trust\u2019s Garden"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Thousands of snowdrop bulbs are being planted\u00a0at the National Trust\u2019s <a title=\"Bodnant Garden\" href=\"http:\/\/www.nationaltrust.org.uk\/bodnant-garden\/\" target=\"_blank\">Bodnant Garden<\/a> in the Conwy Valley.<\/p>\n<p>More than 3000 holes are being dug across the pristine landscape of the internationally renowned Welsh garden to plant the bulbs.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_2297\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-2297\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a gardens<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The dainty winter flowering bulbs will be added to the existing collection of snowdrops on the knolls in The Park, to form and ever-extending carpet of winter white which visitors will be able to enjoy from January 2013.<\/p>\n<p>It will take at least 4 staff 3 full days to complete the work, which involves digging the holes, putting in compost, planting 3 bulbs per hole and covering over with soil.<\/p>\n<p>Troy Smith, Head Gardener said \u201cIt\u2019s actually back-breaking work, but we\u2019re really excited to be planting more bulbs to inspire visitors and encourage them to come along to enjoy the Garden during our future winter opening offer\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Created by five generations of one family, the 32-hectare (80-acre) garden features spectactular views across Snowdonia.<\/p>\n<p>Bodnant Garden welcomes over 170,000 visitors annually.<\/p>\n<p>The garden is the holder of four National Collections \u2013 Embothriums, Magnolias,
