Community spaces and school grounds are set to benefit from a project to plant almost half a million trees. The massive planting scheme is being organised by The Woodland Trust as part of it's More Trees, More Good" campaign. July sees the start of a nationwide survey of mammal sightings along single-carriageway roads. The survey is organised by the People's Trust for Endangered Species. The first survey was in 2001. The Lake District Osprey Project confirmed this week that the famous fish-eating birds of prey have returned to their nest near Bassenthwaite Lake .
