With the start of spring in the UK and the increasing concern for the bee populations we thought we would search the web for websites with a bee connection.

Help Save Bees – To highlight the simple little things that each of us can do to contribute towards generating a better habitat around us to attract and sustain the various types of native Bee – Honey Bee, Solitary Bee & Bumble Bee.
Bumblebee Conservation Trust – Bumblebees are beautiful, hard working and incredibly important pollinators. The UK had 27 species, but sadly 3 are nationally extinct, and others are seriously threatened.
Wild About Plants – Bee Scene – Plantlife and the Bumblebee Conservation Trust would like your help for our exciting new Bee Scene survey, which has been developed as part of the Wild About Plants Project. To take part, all you need is a local natural space: a local park, a field, a local nature reserve or woodland, or you could complete the survey whilst out on a walk.
Bees in the Antipodes – I am a woman beekeeper in Aotearoa (NZ), I have been fascinated with bees for a long time and finally I have 2 hives on a city section surrounded by old fruit trees and flower gardens.

BeeBase – the National Bee Unit website. It is designed for beekeepers and supports Defra and the Welsh Assembly Government’s Bee Health Programme and the Healthy Bees Plan, which set out to protect and sustain our valuable national bee stocks.
London Beekeepers Association – represents the interests of beekeepers and urban beekeeping in the central London area (the Home Counties Beekeeping Associations have branches in the outer London Boroughs).
